These wide, relaxed linen shorts were inspired by the bloomers and seaside clothing worn around the turn of the 20th century, when women and children began embracing looser, more practical clothes for summer holidays, seaside walks and outdoor life.
The silhouette is deliberately loose, allowing plenty of freedom of movement. The gathered ruffle at the hem moves beautifully as you walk and gives the shorts a slightly unexpected, almost historical feeling.
I imagine them on a seaside holiday, walking barefoot along the shore – but they are just as lovely for everyday summer life or worn as pajamas.
Made from washed linen, they are light, breathable and wonderfully comfortable in warm weather.
