Description
This oversized linen shirt is inspired by historical undergarments and everyday shirts worn from the 16th through the 19th centuries. Its construction draws on older garment traditions: a relaxed cut, dropped shoulder line, gathered neckline, and full sleeves shaped through volume rather than close tailoring.
Can be made from medium-weight or light-weight linen, the shirt features a tie neckline, subtly gathered back, and gathered sleeves finished with elastic, double-layer gathered cuffs. The overall silhouette is loose and practical, echoing the function and simplicity of historical shirts.
While adapted for contemporary wear, the design keeps a clear connection to earlier clothing forms, making it suitable for those drawn to historical dress, folk clothing references, and timeless linen garments with a heritage character.
Hand wash or machine wash on a cool cycle. Dry flat. Use a hot steam iron if needed.
